Tropical Storm Dindo has officially left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), as confirmed by the state weather bureau, PAGASA. In their most recent update at 11 a.m., PAGASA reported that Dindo was positioned 670 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, boasting maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near its core, with gusts peaking at up to 80 kph. The storm was steadily advancing northeastward.
PAGASA emphasized that Dindo is not anticipated to exert any direct influence on the country’s weather patterns within the forecast timeframe. Nevertheless, they highlighted the potential for moderate sea swells, potentially reaching heights of up to 2.0 meters, along the coastal waters of Extreme Northern Luzon due to the combined effects of Dindo and the Southwest Monsoon, locally referred to as Habagat.
The agency issued a precautionary advisory to mariners operating motor bancas and similar-sized vessels, urging them to proceed with caution while navigating through these waters and, whenever feasible, to avoid sailing under such conditions, especially if they are inexperienced or lack adequate equipment.
Regarding Dindo’s projected path forward, PAGASA predicted that the storm would persistently traverse over the East China Sea and Yellow Sea, ultimately steering towards the Korean Peninsula over the upcoming days. Throughout this journey, the storm is expected to retain its classification as a tropical storm.
